How to get ready for your Bad Ass Boudoir shoot!

Before the Shoot

  1. Outfit Prep: Try on all your outfits in advance to make sure they fit just right. Especially thigh highs - get them a size larger and without silicone if possible. Remove any sewn-in labels or tags from your lingerie—they may not be removable in post-editing, and we charge an editing fee for that.

  2. Accessories: While optional, accessories like necklaces or earrings can make a big difference. Consider bringing some!

  3. Shoes: Heels and shoes are a fun addition, but don’t forget to clean the bottoms! If they’re dirty in real life, they’ll appear dirty in the photos. Cleaning them up in Photoshop will incur an editing fee, so save yourself the extra cost and wash them. Also, remove any stickers.

  4. Playlist: Make a playlist to keep things upbeat and fun during your session!

  5. Posing Inspiration: Screenshot poses you like from our website or elsewhere online, or create a Pinterest board to share with us for inspiration.

  6. Waxing: If you're waxing, do it with enough time for your skin to calm down, especially for your brows.

  7. Share Your Ideas: The more information you send me ahead of time, the better I can prepare for your shoot! Feel free to toss me your ideas, thoughts, and any inspiration images that excite you—text them to 833-426-8364! I'll review everything and let you know if there’s anything specific you need to bring.

Example: Planning a bubble bath shoot? Make sure to bring a large bottle of bubble bath like Mr. Bubbles since we can’t carry liquids on flights. Same goes for a milk bath—bring a quart of heavy cream!

Day of Your Shoot

  1. Pre-shoot Check-in: Your photographer will reach out a day or so before to answer any last-minute questions.

  2. Entering the Venue: When you arrive at the venue, text us from your car at 833-426-8364. We’ll direct you on how to enter or meet you out front. If you are early, please don't come to the door and knock, as we may be finalizing an earlier session.

Friends and Partners

  1. Solo Focus: A boudoir session is a deeply personal, one-on-one experience designed to keep the focus entirely on you. It’s not a group event or a hangout. To ensure the best possible outcome—and to keep the energy intimate and uninterrupted—we strongly recommend leaving friends at home and allowing your photographer to guide the session without distractions.

  2. Bringing a Friend:  If you need a support person, you may bring one female friend—no exceptions. You must inform us in advance; unannounced guests will not be allowed in. This policy is in place for the safety of your photographer and is non-negotiable at the door.

  3. Friend's Role: Your guest must remain respectful and supportive at all times. If they become a distraction or disrupt the session, they will be asked to leave. Guests are not permitted to follow us from room to room and must remain in a designated area during the shoot. They may not take any photos or videos while on set—doing so will result in both of you being asked to leave.

  4. No Partners During the Shoot: Husbands, wives, or partners are welcome to drop you off and ensure you're settled but cannot stay and watch. Their presence may change the dynamic, so we prefer a focused and empowering environment without them.

  5. No Children: Please do not bring children to the studio—this includes babies and toddlers. We need to maintain a professional environment for everyone.

Hair and Makeup

  1. Doing Your Own: If you’re handling your own hair and makeup, arrive camera-ready. There won’t be time to get ready after you arrive. Avoid heavy highlighter on your nose and cheeks as it can make you look greasy in photos. Bring pressed powder to control shine and sweat between looks.

  2. We’re Styling: If we’re doing your hair and makeup, arrive with a clean face and dry hair. Bring reference photos for your desired look.

    • Blowouts, wedding updos, Viking braids, or intricate braided styles? That’s not our lane—we’re not a full-service salon. We keep it simple and sexy: straightening, curling, and light styling only. If you want something more elaborate, we recommend visiting your stylist beforehand.
    • Bring hair inspo that actually makes sense for your hair. If you’ve got 30 inches of sleek, straight goddess locks, don’t roll in with a pic of a shoulder-length feathered blowout. Baby, your hair’s not about to shape-shift. Let’s keep it cute and realistic so we can slay the look—not fight with it.
    • Wigs, Sew In's and Extensions: Yes we can style them if you bring them.
    • Bring makeup inspo that matches your complexion. If you're fair-skinned, avoid using examples of makeup looks on deeper-toned models—they won’t translate the same. The same goes for deeper skin tones bringing examples from fair-skinned models. For the best results, choose reference photos that reflect your skin tone so we can nail the look you’re going for.
    • For Women of Color: We’ll have foundation shades that suit your skin tone, so you’re covered there. When it comes to natural hair, we recommend having it styled in advance by someone experienced with your specific texture. Our team is talented, but we never want to risk compromising your beautiful curls, coils, or kinks—we want you to feel confident and camera-ready from the very first shot.

During the Shoot

  1. Posing Guidance: Your photographer will guide you through all the poses and demonstrate them if needed.

  2. Key Reminders: Throughout the session, we'll remind you to "suck it in, stick it out, and point your toes!"—it’s all part of the fun.

  3. Hand Posing: Unsure what to do with your hands? Try twisting your fingers in your hair, nibbling a pinkie, running your hand over your shoulder, cupping your breasts, pulling at a bra strap, or lowering your panties at the hip.

  4. Have Fun: The best shots happen when you're having fun and being carefree. Don't be afraid to get silly!

Making the Sexy Look

  1. Practice the Look: Spend some time practicing your sexy look in the mirror. It might feel awkward, but it helps!

  2. Lips: Lips are key. You want a soft, slightly parted look—avoid tight lips or a blow-up doll look. Breathe naturally through your lips for a sensual effect.

  3. Chin Up: Keep your chin slightly elevated to avoid a double chin in photos.

  4. Expressions: If you like to smile, show off those pearly whites! For a more serious look, try a smolder with a sassy squint. We can handle the heat!

After the Shoot

  1. Soreness: Expect to feel a bit sore the next day—it’s a workout holding all those poses!

  2. You’ll Want More: Trust us, you’re going to love the experience so much that you’ll want to do it again!

  3. Viewing Your Images: In about three days, you’ll receive a text from our office with links and instructions to view and select your images. If you haven’t paid your viewing deposit, you’ll need to do that before we release the images.
